Within Nijhof Wassink Group, many colleagues work in different places, in different roles and across several countries. On the road alone, some 1,100 drivers travel through Europe with 800 trucks. In exactly such an organisation, keeping employees well informed and engaged is a challenge.

The challenge

For Jeroen Vaessen, marketing and communications manager at Nijhof Wassink Group, that was the biggest challenge right away. "The challenge is mainly that we have 1,100 drivers travelling across Europe." As an organisation, you not only want to reach those people, but also keep them in the loop.

From scattered channels to one clear place

Before People Appy, communication ran through various channels. "Everyone worked with whatever tools they had at hand. From SMS and Facebook Messenger to WhatsApp messages," Jeroen explains. Messages had to be shared in different ways and sometimes translated first. That cost time and made the organisation dependent on multiple links. People Appy brought calm: one central place to inform employees.

What is faster now is that we can reach all colleagues at the push of a button, wherever they are in Europe, in the language he or she speaks.

Not just informing, but engaging

The app helps not only to share practical information, but also to involve employees more in the organisation. "We simply want to inform our colleagues well and involve them in the organisation," says Jeroen. Especially when colleagues are on the road a lot. It matters that they know what is going on. People Appy shrinks that distance.

Useful in practice

That also shows in the story of Michiel Bourgondiën, controller at Nijhof Wassink. For him, the strength lies mainly in the ease of use: "You can quickly see whose birthday it is, you can see stories from colleagues on the road. It is simply fun, you feel more connected to each other."

A partnership that feels right

"You want to go for something beautiful, something good. And meetings with them are quite relaxed," says Jeroen. People Appy also helped with onboarding through videos and explanations. The partnership does not stop at delivering the app. It includes the guidance around it.

The result

Within Nijhof Wassink Group, People Appy has not become a stand-alone tool but a practical communication channel that fits how the organisation works. Fewer scattered channels, faster reach and more overview, and a team that feels more connected, from office to cab.
